What ValTransfer does
ValTransfer is a booking platform for passenger transport in Switzerland. The passenger gives a pickup point, a destination and a time; the all-inclusive price is shown before booking; a partner taxi company carries out the ride with its own driver and its own vehicle.
Price known upfront
The amount is calculated and displayed before you confirm. No meter, no surprise on arrival.
Partner companies
Every ride is carried out by a transport company entered in the commercial register, holding its own permits.
Direct payment
Payment is collected by the company that drives you. ValTransfer never holds the passenger's money.
ValTransfer contracts only with companies
This is a structural decision, not an organisational detail. ValTransfer does not recruit drivers and employs none. It contracts with transport companies — sole proprietorships or corporations entered in the commercial register — which remain solely responsible for their drivers, their vehicles, their permits and their social security obligations.
The drivers who carry out the rides are engaged by those companies. They are neither employees nor subcontractors of ValTransfer.
How the money flows
The passenger's payment is collected directly into the partner company's account through Stripe. ValTransfer takes a commission on that transaction but never receives the full amount: the passenger's money never passes through a ValTransfer account.
This is not cosmetic. Collecting and then paying out would make ValTransfer a financial intermediary under Swiss law, with the affiliation duties that follow. The chosen model avoids that classification.
Payment follows the ride, not the booking
At booking, the payment method is authorised but not charged. The actual charge happens once the ride has taken place and the partner company has declared it complete. A cancelled ride is never charged.
